Hi George,

Yes, there is a light. However, it may or may not actually work. The low level detection comes from the fuel level sender in the tank. If your fuel level doesn't work due to broken terminals, disconnected connector, etc., the light may not or will not work. On my car, it went for a long time where the light didn't work, but the level did. The level eventually went out too, so I replaced the sending unit and now both work.

Pretty common problem with older cars, you can either replace the sending unit as GSL suggested, or you can keep track of the miles you drive and fill up at the same time. My camaro's fuel gauge goes in and out so I just fill up once a week
