grounded wire?

Just bought the car and there is a lot of stuff stripped from the engine bay, hence, a lot of wires that I don't know where they went.

Found this wire, looks like its just a ground? I have no idea though.

Also is there a wiring diagram that I can download that will show what some of these random wires/connectors were once connected to?

That isn't a factory wire/connection, so we have no idea if it should be a ground or not. You will have to trace it back and see where it goes.

A lot of guys add relays for electrics fans and fog lights; perhaps that's a ground to an accessory relay? As suggested, simply follow the wire and report back!

it looks like the other end is connected to the engine...Is it?( I think I see a part of a crimp connector down there...not the best pic)

That's a tiny pic, but if it's connected to the block in back and is as somewhat high gauge as it looks, it was probably an extra ground to the battery for better conductivity or a ground for some accessory that would use a decent amount of power.
