Got my RX7. A few quick questions before i start work.
Hi all.
So i just got my hands on a 94 RX7 and i'm ready to do some serious work on it to get it putting out some decent figures.
Prior to this I owned an MR2 and i did a bit of work on the engine on that but nothing to major so this is going to be a long learning process for me. Bare with me if any of these questions seem obvious or that.
I have a lot planned for the future but my plan of action was to start by giving the car a bit of a service and adding some mods for reliability.
I was going to start with new spark plugs, ignition leads, oil change, flush the coolant system, replace the vacuum hoses with silicone hoses and install a boost gauge and A/F gauge.
My first question is do you think there is anything else i should do and or replace while im at this?
Secondly is there any recommended parts or products i should use, e.g, particular spark plugs/leads, decent vacuum hoses etc. Also can you recommend any good reliable websites where i can purchase these bits from.
I think thats all. Thanks in advance

Keep in mind that doing vacuum lines on an FD is a huge job, but it also must be done. Be prepared to break a few solenoids along the way.
You'll want to replace all the rubber lines in the engine bay such as the coolant hoses, fuel lines, air lines, etc. Also, replace the plastic AST with aluminum and if it within your budget, the plastic intercooler pipes with metal.
As for getting parts, you can get plugs at the local auto parts store and good leads from any of the vendors.

Also replace your FPD. Important if you don't want your car to burst into flames.
If you're going to do the vac hose job use GOOD silicone like Hose Techniques. It's more expensive, but 20 pinched off vac hose from crappy silicone will drive you insane.
While you're in there you might also want to have your injectors cleaned. Nothing can screw up a rotary engine more than having too much air and not enough fuel Boom.
I would also replace the fuel filter and fuel pump, for the same reasons. You don't want to screw around with fuel delivery.
If you want OEM parts at a very good price contact Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda, tell him you belong to RX7 Club. He'll hook you up.
