got an idle problem

got an idle problem

the idle in my 1987 rx7 non turbo goes up to about 1500 and then drops down and ive been told by the pervious owner that its a vacum leak but i dont know where to look for it any ideas?

Look anywhere there is a vacuum line. Spray water around the engine bay to try and locate the leak. The enigne will suck in the water and momentarily change the way it runs. Check for a loose intake tube between the AFM and throttle body. When you have all the vacuum leaks solved, adjust the TPS.

Don't "mess" with the TPS unless the possibility of a vacuum leak is eliminated. Adjusting the TPS with a vacuum leak will just cause more problems.
