Gas additive

I have a 1981 RX-7. It has been in storage for 10+ yrs. The gas is that old as well. I ran it a week or so ago for the first time in 6 yrs and it did pretty well. It did start to chug and stall for a minute before the engine quit. Got it running again (I was stuck out a mile or so from home) and it did OK again. Obviously, the gas is old. Does anyone recommend a gas additive? I seem to remember they were not good for rotary engines. I guess the other option would be to syphon out the gas and put in new. Then you have the 10% Ethanol to worry about. Any ideas?

Drain the tank and replace fuel components such as hoses, filters, etc... Fuel stabilizers need to be added before storage, not after.

Unfortunately, you have probably caused major damage to the fuel system.

Well, I have some VERY old fuel in my 1981 RX-7 tank. Probably will just syphon it out and use it in the lawn tractor. But for future reference I was wondering if adding fuel "stabilizers" etc is a good idea for Rotary engines?

Thank you for the helpful information. As you can see, I don't have the time to put into the car like I should and I don't have the room to store it again. It looks like I'll need to find a "new home" for it with someone who has the time to put into it. I will be posting it for sale as soon as I get the 10 post minimum. Thanks again for your help and I don't plan on driving it again.
