Fuel pump rewire help.

I have a 88 turbo 2 and I wanted to rewire the fuel pump. However after reading posts on the forum I found 2 ways to do it and not sure which is right. Here are the diagrams.

Both ways work.

Both are equally flawed as well.

The top diagram is what I would recommend. However I would make some changes. The fuel pump relay is located under the dash above your right knee (driver seat). I'd place the relay there and make all connections to the stock harness at that point. Then I would run a separate wire from the 80A main fuse, with that wire fused at the connection point for 20A, to the relay. Then run the wire from the relay back to the fuel pump and make the connection there.

Placing the relay back at the fuel pump is silly.

Im am moving my battery into the storage bin area as we speak though so should I still put it under the dash or does that make a difference?

You can place the relay near the battery if you wish. I just like it under the dash because it is a more standard location.
