Fmic
I've been contemplating a FMIC conversion. To that end, I can either purchase a Mitsubishi Starion intercooler, a SAAB 9000 intercoooler, or an Ebay "special" (questionable marketing claims and dubois quality). Has anyone used any either of the two intercoolers in their projects?

A friend of mine used the Starion intercooler on his mostly-stock 88 TII and it was definitely an improvement over the stock TMIC, but he later upgraded to a GReddy intercooler when he upgraded the turbocharger.
There are many types of intercoolers sold on Ebay. You may want to just search the forum for your generation of RX-7 to see which Ebay intercoolers have good reviews.
I don't know anybody who has tried the SAAB intercooler.

I want an fmic also. They look bad *** and they are supposed to cool better. Ive seen some good deals on ebay and I think when I go turbo I will get one. Right now i got an 87 sport with no turbo. No fun!

Their thickness is a flaw, and it doesn't work well for a street application. The Starion intercooler is about 3" thick, which works much better on the street.
