Flywheels

Hi i just purchased a new lightened steel flywheel and counterweight and need to get it installed before i go on this big trip. Can I replace it with the engine still intact by taking the transmission out?
Thank You

Yes. But only if you have some method of removing the big flywheel nut such as an impact wrench. The breaker bar method is very difficult when the engine is in the car.

If you need to replace the front counterweight, you have to remove the front cover and thus support the engine with a hoist or some other method.
