First Rotary

So I joined this forum because I need some veteran advice. First of all, ill start out by saying this is my first experience with a rotary. I just started to look for a rx7 and found an 86 for $500. The things that it needs is a vacuum hose and a light switch. Now I am 6 foot 4, 280 lbs so i knew it would it would be a tight fit (is there a secret for big people in these cars? lol) I'd like to get this car as a restoration. The car runs but needs alignment and a tune up. What I was wondering is if everyone thinks that this would be a good beginner rotary.

153k miles (original)
5 speed manual
n/a
some moisture on engine (maybe oil?)
no power steering (dont even think they came with power steering, don't really care)
car starts and runs
unaware of maintainence (oil used and gas used)
Body is in not the best shape, but that's ok with me

Thoughts?
Thanks for lookin and I look forward to opinions
