MS On fillups last bit of gas going to pavement

When I fill my car’s tank with gas, the last half-cup or so of gas ends up on the pavement pretty near straight under the gas tank filler neck hose piping. That’s telling me that one of the rubber hoses in that piping has cracked. Anybody agree or disagree? Any comment will be welcomed. Thanks in advance Steve in Biloxi

Could be a bad hose. Why not just stop filling it a little early. I never totally top mine off.

Which hose are you referring to? My real concern here is: if one of the rubber connectors is cracked, split open or broken, gas vapors will be escaping out the crack which in turn will cause the gas to go bad, which in turn will cause bigger problems in the entire fuel system.

you'd really only have to worry about the gas going bad if it sits. You'll for sure get more water in your gas since the ethenol pulls water out've the atmosphere

crawl underneath and find out, that kind've crack should be easy to locate

Thanks, I'll definitely do that. Brings up another question - if it's cracked I want to replace it - will it require dropping the gas tank to replace those connectors?

Take the carpet on the passenger side rear and pull it up.You will see an access plate to get to the Filler and overflow region of the gas tank on the floor of the car.Remove the screws and inspect..
There is only a BIG *** accordion looking filler and a small vent tube..
Spot the leak and replace the part.
