Smile A few issues. (Actuators, Airpump, Coolant) PICS!!

So I just came across a few issues earlier this morning when i was just looking around my engine bay
1. BOTH actuator seem to be disconnected with the lever ziptied up
now im more than sure i can fix this IF there was a manual/fsm showing/for an s5 the only ones i can find FOR AN S5 on aaron's site seem to be down. any others? or is it as easy as putting that clip over/in that lever

2. I HAVE NO SPOT TO PUT COOLANT i think the previous owner bought the wrong radiator
Could i change the thermostat housing to that of one with a radiator cap? will it bolt the same as my s5 thermo housing? or do i need to get the RIGHT radiator.

3.Air pump bracket cracked

belt is loose and ive seem to get it as tight as i could but it being loose what problems could i face?

Wow, that car has seen some hacking.

And what, my site was down? I doubt that unless it was only a few minutes of downtime due to some kind of routing issue.

My guess is that the previous owner either tied them open out of ignorance, or tied them open because they weren't working. For S5 I'm fairly sure that if you disconnect the pressure sensor and rev above 4K, the actuators should move. Failing that, just smear some grease on the area and go for a spirited drive. If the grease has moved, the system is working.

That's an S4 radiator on an S5 car. I really have to wonder how it was filled up. Probably best to just replace it.

The broken air pump bracket needs to be replaced as well. It's going to cause the pump to walk around a little, and the belt will break, leaving you at the side of the road as the other belts will be thrown off.

If the fan shroud and air snorkel are missing and not just taken off for these pictures, you'll want to replace them.

I don't see a battery hold down strap, and those battery terminals are parts store replacement terminals for temporary use only.

Air cleaner screws are missing.

Also check the VDI actuator on the driver side of the upper intake. If it's been tied, that needs to be corrected as well.

WOW! thanks man!
and no your site was up (& VERY useful) ur links work but i think its just the sites for the s5 FSM's were down. (their site)
.for the air pump bracket would one of a 87 n.a. work?
for the actuator, to reconnect them does there have to be any sort of cotter pin? or is it just putting that coupler over the rod
the battery terminals..i just get those from Mazda?
and VDI actuator? if there is a link to the s5 fsm's id be MORE THAN thankful!!! im currently having to use this one as a reference but PRETTY sure there some things different
well ill continue to search as well and thanks again

FSMs can be found here: http://foxed.ca/foxed/index.php?page=rx7manual

I think the actuators just slip over the arm. I've never seen one with any kind of cotter pin or C clip.

For the battery terminals, you can just get a new set of battery cables at any auto parts store. Measure the old ones, and then just buy off the shelf.

I don't think the air pump bracket between S5 and S4 is the same.

oh man that;s awesome THANKS!!! been looking at that thing ALL DAY. lol

I'm even starting to tackle my passive shoulder belt seat belt thing.

both motors were d/c-ed but i think because they just didn't want to mess with it.. even the drivers door dome light striker was removed but luckily it was in the little "rear seat compartments"

but weird. drivers side seat belt motor just keeps the motor going when i close the door and then goes for a little and stops when i open (belt buckle never moving)

and passengers side just jerks a 1/4 inch both ways like its stuck. so i think the "band" or whatever is off on the drivers and i don't know on the passenger but I'm gonna go take it all off right now and check it.

also need to see if my wiper motor is out. noT working

man REALLY THANK YOU Ive got stuff to do on it now, seeing how I'm broke for another week, and been going crazy trying to find stuff to do on it.

oh and I get a puff of smoke when I'm "ON IT" and then shift from 1st to 2nd in higher rpms. or just STRAIGHT SMOKING sometimes when I cruise in 2nd at 4-5k rpms * shoulder shrug*

but ya thanks again Aaron!!!! names Remi (RIM-e)

That's crazy about the radiator. As far as the seat belts, if you have a Mazda dealership around you, they have to fix any issues with your passive seat belts for free for the life of the car. So you might want to give them a call.

oh a little update of things.

*still havent fixxed the radiator to the point of it starting to beep at
me for low coolant- filled through (i guess) the coolant level/temp sensor
directly in the the top center of the radiator as i would
any other radiator, burping and all and been good since

*bought all my missing engine bay components

*replaced the sunroof relays - now works

* FIXXED..KINDA... my wiper switch from non working to atleast mid speed
cant get high speed. but 2 speeds is better than NONE
(kinda)= I got the clear relay cover off i just dont know EXACTLY what
contacts to clean with my dremel brush attachent.

* replaced my drivers door window switch so now i can operate both windows WITHOUT
having to use a small pointy object (i.e. screwdriver, pencil)

*replaced my tails with the PROPER s5 tails i got off a convertible at the local pick n pull
:previous owner i guess sold the s5 tails or kepts em and gave me the car with
s4 taillights

and

* sprayed my front fenders with sunrise red rustoleum so now all the fading and different
coloring isnt noticable anymore and was almost a perfect match

* added a front lip off a camry we had sitting... a little short :/ had one off the 928
that wraps around the sides of the fenders nicely but i would have to cut it
and i cant do that

this was all done awhile back just waiting on funds for some mirrors and then eventually a wing

OH YAAAA I ALMOST FORGOT
*
***** I ALSO got a set of crown vics by trading some 20's we had just sitting here starting to
corrode just waiting on tires...... but ive been checking the NTB not even
1000ft away NIGHTLY for the tires i need these rich folk out here buy whole sets
of tires when just one is bad

ok and that it sorry :/

**** I will upload pics and edit this post to put them in it here in a few****
