Few FB 12A questions
Hey everyone!
I was wondering if I could get some help here regarding two questions:
First, does the vacuum advance function without the throttle position sensor, or if I have the TPS removed, should I remove the vacuum advance too?
Secondly, is it possible to remove weight from the flywheel (it's the 1984 one) without messing up it's factory imbalance? And do I need to tamper with the counterweight, or can I just leave it like it is?
Please don't tell me to get some aftermarket flywheel, where I live, the shipping costs would kill me, and there are absolutely no second-hand rx-7 parts here...
Thanks for the help!

Some company up here in Canada has done weight removal from a stock flywheel.(eurodrive Burlington,Ontario,Canada..so if they can do it I am sure you may be able to get a specialty shop to do it for you.
The counterweight on a Manual transmission'ed Car is incorporated in the Flywheel as part of the casting,so it is hard just to take weight off and make it OK.
As far as TPS is concerned you can't remove the TPS.

Thank you for the quick reply!
About the flywheel - I would like to know specifically if it has a surface part that can be machined down to lose weight without having to re-balance it? Because from what I can see through the opening between the engine and the gearbox and some pictures of other flywheels, I'm still not sure if there is a part I can get cut down without tampering with the overall balance at all.
About the TPS - I can't take it off as in I SHOULDN'T, or it isn't even possible? Because as I was removing emissions, I removed a part that was specified in a tutorial as a TPS. Sorry, but I can't find the picture at the moment.
