FD3 Radio Install Help

I'm trying to install a new Alpine iDA-X305 in my 93 FD3S. I've removed the old double-din radio and hooked up the new one and adjusted the gain for my Bose system. Everything is working properly with my new setup.

The problem I'm having is how to mount the deck in the double-din slot. The Alpine deck came with a mounting bracket, and although it fits in the double din opening I can't get it to attach anywhere. The bracket has the standard tabs that can be bent to tighten things up, but the car's opening doesn't have anything to bend them against.

I've talked to Crutchfield and they said I need to purchase a mounting bracket from Mazda. I know I'm not the first person to have this problem! Do I actually need to order a bracket from Mazda or is there something else I can do?

I personally have no idea but if you don't get a response to this thread, try searching the Interior / Exterior / Audio section as I'm sure there have been past threads on this topic.

going to mazda is not a good idea . however you prolly need an instal kit available at your local mobile electronics store(best buy if you dont know where a store is) i can give you the number to our local shop for more info. you more than likely bought a deck that doesnt just mount to that car anyways, 1 207 324 3600 place is Get Amped and you should be speakin with Tim . tell him your situation and reference Mike (thats me)

You need the dash kit. Best buy might have it and they will definitely charge you twenty times what it's worth. I would look on ebay and put a WTB up in the 3rd gen parts section.
