CA FD manual swap - keep ec/at unit?

i bought an fd with a manual swap done to it...the car starts and runs for about a half a second then dies. so far as i can tell its gonna be something to do with the ECU/ wiring down on the passenger side.

the automatic trans computer is still plugged in, albeit with only 1 of 2 plugs. should this even be there anymore?

No idea but there have been plenty of threads on the topic of auto to manual swap. Try searching the 3rd Gen section if you don't get the answers you are looking for. 3rd gen FAQ thread also has a link to auto to manual swap.

When I was shopping for my FD I considered buying auto and converting so I did some work looking through the FSM, etc. AT ctrl unit (EC-AT) should not be there, ECU and CPU unit #1 are both different in auto and manual cars. CPU #2, ABS ctrl unit and cruise ctrl units are all the same.

If you are keeping the car close to stock, IMO you should go through every page of the FSM wiring diagrams and note all of the auto/manual differences. After that, everything should be not too difficult to figure out when you look at the car and wiring.
