Fd Fuel pump and Rtek 1.8

Can you use an FD fuel pump which is not rewired to a higher voltage and use it with Rtek 1.8? I'm simply asking if the FD fuel pump will support enough fuel for the 4x720cc injectors. Please let me know! Thanks!

Yes. An FD pump will support up to about 300 whp (in very general terms, since it depends on your fuel pressure).

Thanks! I have one more question if you can answer it, later on I may be running a BNR Stage 3 with the Rtek 1.8. Any idea how much boost I can run safely with the Rtek 1.8? On the Bnr site it says the turbo can safely be used up to 15-16 psi. I was just wondering if this would bother the Rtek and such? Or should I just watch the AFR gauge from not leaning out to much and adjust boost setting accordingly? Thanks

A BNR stg. 3 uses a 60-1 compressor wheel. That turbo at 15-16 psi is a bad idea with only 4x720cc injectors and a 1.8 chip. This is for a couple main reasons:

1) Stock timing is not safe with large hybrids or aftermarket turbos. The 1.x chips do pull 1 degree per psi over 9, but from 6k to 7k RPM, the stock ECU runs 28-34 degrees of timing!

2) 4x720cc injectors will only support about 350 brake HP at 85% d/c (depending on fuel pressure). That's a 350-400 WHP turbo, and I know a member on here maxed out 4x720s at about 12 psi on a BNR stg. 4 (same compressor). http://rx7.com/cgi-local/2ndgencalc.cgi

You would have to run the turbo at low boost, which would make the car feel slower and more laggy than stock. Power increase really wouldn't be all that much, and you'd sacrifice a lot of low-to-mid range.
