FC3S Oil pump

Well guys, I'm doing a rebuild on my first rotary engine and when I removed the oil pan I found a set crew in it. Off to a great start! I know... So I put it aside and kept going until I noticed a missing screw on the oil pump. My questions are, is that where that set screw is from? What does it do? Also, I can feel alot of those scoring marks inside the pump, when rotating the pump I can also feel resistance in some spots. Should I replace it?

Any info is appreciated, thanks.

If I recall correctly (as I haven't been inside an engine in a while),That screw keeps the gear on the Pump.
