Are you refering to the intercooler blocking the radiator and making it run hotter?
The air is still going to go through the intercooler and hit the radiator, so it shouldnt be an issue.
Just dont get a huge intercooler, buy an intercooler that fits your turbo setup.
If your coolant temps go up, you can try several things.
Run more water than coolant in the summer months, or straight water.
I use distilled water to prevent build up in the coolant system when I run straight water.
Use water wetter.
Try and route some sort of sheet metal to pass more air to the radiator.
Buy a thicker radiator.
Wire a pusher/puller fan onto a switch that you can control from the cabin to drop temps when needed.
