FC short shifter

Hey guys,
I currently have a Megan racing short shifter installed on my 1990 GXL however it is very notchy. Not smooth at all, from second to third there is a piece that blocks it from going straight in. I've replace the bearings but it still isn't right. One of the main bushings had to be modified and it's not exact, I filed it the best I could with a metal file. Any ideas of how to fix it, or better short shifters?

You're not the 1st one to hate the megan. The Mazdatrix one made my FC shift like a Miata (which is good).

Had my bad experience with a cheap Megan SS. Returned, spent more money for the Mazdatrix and as you stated above, 100% satisfied.
