FC Rx7 Start/Idling issue

Im new to rotarys I just bought a 91 na convertible. Overall it runs and has been well taken care of. I am having some issues with starting up. When I go to start up it'll start but then die immediately. If I start it again too soon it wont start at all just click. If I wait a second and then start and then give it gas for a few seconds it stays on and runs fine. I have noticed rmps is a little bouncy in idle after sitting for a few minutes. It bounces between 1 and 2k. So far I have found it might be fuel injectors or TPS. Wanted to get some input before going out and buying parts. Any help is greatly appreciated

It could be a myriad of things, I'd start with the basic vac leak checks, and yes adjusting the tps properly is a good idea - learn the procedure, and remember it. It's troublesome. Check your battery voltage, both with ignition off, and then on to check if it's charging.

Was the car sitting a long time? Once you've confirmed there are no vac leaks or obvious deficiencies, take it out for a good hard drive and burn any carbon/grime out of the engine. Could be as simple as a sticky apex or side seal.
