Hey there, I just got a cheap FC that runs for my first car but it needs a bit of electrical work. The blinkers dont work and the right headlight works but the motor wont lift up when the high beams are on. I will post the issue with the blinkers and the headlights separate, if you can help me that would be great.
-Headlight motor issue.
Okay, so when I first got the car it had to be jumped to run, other then that it ran fine. I wondered what this weird blinking noise was coming from around the front right headlight when the car was off, I ignored it and bought a brand new battery that gives 12.6v instead of 1.1v that the old battery was able to hold (After trickle charge). The car ran fine and I was surprised that it was that easy so after leaving the car overnight I found my battery dead in the morning with nothing on. I managed to get a milliamp meter and check this drain. I found out that with the car off and keys out of the ignition, the car was ghosting a average of -0.03 milliamps to the battery from the negative terminal (With the + facing the ground on the negative terminal, I was getting a reading of -0.03 so 0.03 going to the battery). I heard that click again from the right headlight and the reading shot up to around 8.00-10.00 milliamps. Now that I found out what is draining the battery, does anyone know what might be the problem? I Figured it is the headlight motor shorting to the frame and somehow sucking power from the battery, any suggestions?
-Blinker lights.
So the blinker lights in the back work fine (Other then the fact that they blink fast to show the front ones are messed up) but the front blinkers don't work on either side. I found out that when the park lights are on (lights in between off and low beams) that the left blinker works, but the right one doesn't. I bought new bulbs because they were cheap and decided to change em. After spending about half n hour trying to get the old bulbs out I figured I was hopeless. I ended up taking a look at the film in the bulbs and I couldn't find any breaks, they seemed intact. Do you guys think that it might be the flashers?
If anyone can help me with either of the problems it would be great because its winter and I don't have a garage to store the car so its stuck outside. It would be to much of a pain to do anything big since we keep getting fresh snow. Thanks a lot for reading and sorry for the really long post
