FB Help please
So before anyone jumps the gun about me not searching... I have.
On Thursday I did the atf trick and wouldn't you know it... IT WORKED!!! I was so excited when my FB started on Friday I just about cried(ok i did), but my happiness was short lived.
Well I cranked it over and at first it would only start with the throttle pegged to the floor, if I let off at all it would die and it was bogging(rpm @ 1K)??? It did this over and over as I tried different techniques to try and keep it running and to no avail, but I did find that I could keep the starter going and it was like a crutch carrying the rpms higher because as soon as I let go of the key(with the throttle wide open) it would maintain the rpms that it reached with the help of the starter(5k was the highest I took it).
Then I fouled out the plugs so I let it air out and put new ones in. With the new plugs it played a different game... now i had to pump the gas, then attempt to start it, but it would only run if I bounced my foot on the throttle about an inch up and down(maintained 1k to 1.5k rpm). I soon found I could bounce my foot at a faster pace to bring the rpms up, but I couldn't hold my foot steady or it would just die. I also couldn't bring the rpms down any way without it dieing.
My only question is what could be causing this and how would I go about fixing it?
FYI This whole time Ive been pouring gas into the carb because I havn't looked and gone through the fuel system yet. (1983 12A all stock)
This forum has been so much help and such a wonderful helping tool, and thank you for your answers in advance!

Look at the section on "how to tune the idle". www.sterlingmetalworks.com
Sounds like you just need to set the idle and idle mixture. Good luck.
