Question Fabricate a custom pre-silencer?

If I remember correctly I read that you can fabricate your own pre-silencer. How exactly can I do this? I'm looking for the parts I need to do this and more importantly, if it's even possible to fabricate a pre-silencer that will hold up. Thanks!

Sure, you can. But it's almost certainly not worth it. Vibrant Performance sells an "ultra-quiet" resonator for $100. It's hard to beat that cost considering the materials and time it would take to fabricate up a silencer that probably wouldn't be as good.

I have one of the Vibrant ultra-quiet stainless resonators on my bridgeported car and at light loads it is only slightly louder then stock.

Yeah I didn't think it would be worth it to make one. I'm also not trying to spend a lot of time just trying to make a pre-silencer that wouldn't even hold up well in the end. Thanks for the tip though. I'll have to check that resonator out. I'll actually probably end up buying that over the pre-silencer.
