Exhaust gaskets

Hello, my 88 vert seems to be going through what sounds like collector gaskets pretty fast. Like less than 3,000 mile on this one. Does anybody have ideas or suggestions.

Is your exhaust system stock or modified? I generally order my exhaust gaskets from Racingbeat, but they're too large for a stock exhaust (2.5" and 3" only). You can go through the catalogs at auto parts stores to find some good ones that will fit your application too. Just bring the old gasket in and compare.

But even with good stainless gaskets, my system always finds a way to blow the one at the y-pipe out, so I'm thinking of getting some copper sheet and making my own.

I have stock exhaust. Yeah it's the one at the y pipe. The engine and exhaust are fine with no problems besides the slight leak so I'm worrying more about getting the body done and repainted. Then I will move on to engine and exhaust upgrades. I will go searching for better gaskets. Thanks

I bought the car in CA two years ago and it had the exhaust leak. I took it to a small garage that only worked on mazda's and had it repaired. I'm not sure what kind he used in it that time.

I would suggest OEM mazda gaskets. Many times the ones in the parts store are not made for the heat a rotary produces.
