Exhaust assistance...

Hey... I need a new exaust system but im stuck making a decision. I have an 88 Fc gxl n/a. I want to increase as much horespower as possible while still being street legal (sound wise). I was thinking about getting rb headers then strate pipe to a fart can. I dont want it to be obnoxiously loud but i do want it to sound decent, not like every other ricer. Can someone tell me a relatively inexpensive way to get this done.

Thnx -Tommy-

(p.s i need to get it done asap because i have a terrible exuast leak and i get a headache everytime i close the windows )

A straight pipe to "fart can" setup is going to be obnoxiously loud or sound like "every other ricer" no real way around it one way or another. At least in my expieriance. Others may have found a solution I am not aware of. My opinion is to spend a little extra and get a catback with one big can or a split tail setup with two decent size cans.
Let me know how it goes and what you decide to do.

Please don't rice out your exhaust with a honda fart can...

The cheaper the exhaust parts, the louder it'll be. Going with headers & no pre-silencer, in addition to a crappy muffler will be deafening. Rotaries have LOUD exhaust.

Get some headers and a presilencer or resonator (sometimes called a race pipe) and a decent catback system. Corksport and Racingbeat will be good places to start. (www.racingbeat.com, www.corksport.com)
