Engine won't start

I've got an s4 turbo 2 motor that Was just rebuilt Tryed to start the car no luck. Checked fuel and spark everything looks good still no luck. It back fired once but never came close to starting I bought the car with all the smog crap already deleted, could it be because the emissions sensors are all missing? Should I try towing it behind a truck and bump starting it? Thanks

Did you have it rebuilt and just put it back in? If so, yes, pull start it, starting a freshly rebuilt rotary can be a hassle

welcome to the board.

it also wouldn't hurt to double check the basics (timing, placement of fuel lines, ignition wires, etc.). in the heightened anticipation, many first starts have been delayed for that type of oversight.

Make sure the CAS is positioned correctly.

Why was the engine originally taken apart?

Has the car been sitting for a long time? If so, injectors will likely need to be serviced.

A push start is generally my go-to way for starting stock ECU cars that have been rebuilt with used housings. That's push starting with another vehicle.

The motor was blown it had a bad center iron and rear rotor had some damage to it as well. Found one of my problems the injectors were hooked up wrong. So I Tryed tow starting it today got it to fire up for about 10-15 seconds and it wouldn't rev pass 2k I'm guessing something's gotta be wired wrong still. Back to checking the connectors again.
