engine storage
hello all. i have an s5 engine that has been stored resting on the fly wheel face for the past 3 months or so. i read somewhere that this could cause damage to the thrust plate. is this true? if so, is there anything else that may be damaged by storing the engine in this manner?
as always, your input is greatly appreciated

Try the SEC gen section,You have enough posts to go there.
New Section can only handle so much, and Impatient Thread starters will not be Tolerated so your "BUMP" was deleted off your post count.

my apologies. was not my intent to seem impatient. i'll keep it in mind in the future.
and you're absolutely right. no need for mods to have to "ok" threads when it's not necessary. that was poor etiquette on my part
thank you for the advice. will take it over to the SEC forum

I fully appreciate the Co-operation my Friend.
New Section is not always a High traffic area, and when it is it gets hectic, with cleaning the Good info from the "WTF's"..lol!
On a Side note: I use old car tires to put my engines on..Stack a couple and lay the engine in the "hole".It won't flip over.
If you are worried about flywheel rust you can Painter's tape the surface.clean it with brake cleaner afterwards when you remove the tape.

no worries, bud. but yea, i was just more concerned with whether or not damage may have already been incurred by the method used.
was just wondering if it was kind of one of those rotary common knowledge things that i just didn't know about.
i'll see what they say in SEC. you can delete this thread if you like. thank you kindly
