Engine shuts down when release clutch?
When I start up my 97'rx7 I have too hold on to the clutch or the engine shuts down when I let go of the clutch. It didn't happen from the last two winter. But it's happening this winter. I'm not sure if only happens in the winter. I have to hold the clutch for like 3-5 mins before I can let go of the clutch or until the engine warms up. Any idea? Thanks for your help.
check your trans fluid and magnet. see if there are chunks, if not must be friction in clutch, maybe , purge your clutch fluid? In fact first do that, purge your clutch fluid, then go on from there
Well, you have had a really cold winter this year, right? If everything is ok once the engine is warm, maybe the oil in the engine and the gear oil in the tranny iare so thick when cold that it adds just enough drag to stall out the cold engine until the tranny picks up some heat from the exhaust. Can you keep the car running in neutral by keeping the revs up a bit?

Here's another thing. Why dose my rmp drops like almost a inch when I release the clutch? For example, if rmp was at 2k with stepping on clutch. It drops down to almost 1k when release clutch. Any ideas?
