Engine code 23 fuel thermosensor QUESTION
After having my FD for a little over a month the CEL came on. As the title states its code 23 for the fuel thermosensor. Of all the threads Ive read about this most peeps can't get their cars to start. Mine starts up fine, drives fine, it does pop a bit while idling which from what I read is because of this and it throws the car into limp mode.?
"fuel temp. sensor is there primarily to sense a hotstart condition, so it can compensate for vapor-lock. The FSM says this hotstart mode (fuel temp above 92f, coolant above 158f) cancels vacuum to the FPR and switches the fuel pump to highspeed during starting and for apprx. the next 90 sec. after starting." (Quoted from InsaneGideon)
So my question is should I be worried about driving while I'm waiting for the new thermosensor to be replaced? If so why?
