electrical problems

hell-o to all, This is a great web site! We have several 1988-1989 rx7's. My question is, on a 1989 convertible we have even with ignition key turned off and key out of ignition, if you turn fan on it will run and little lights above selection on heater/ac panel stay lit up...............is this a relay problem? I have had to disconnect cable from battery each time car is driven so's the battery doesn't run down. any thoughts? thanks!!

It sounds like a problem with the ignition switch. Grab a copy of the FSM from the FAQ and pop open the wiring diagram. Check the IGN wires from the ignition switch to make sure that they aren't showing 12V with the key off.

Unless someone has been doing some rewiring...
