The BTN fuse powers a lot of things in the interior. From the S4 wiring diagrams (provide car info if this is incorrect), the BTN fuse feeds power to 6 different interior fuses. One looks to be the 7.5A meter fuse, which is for the gauges. http://www.rotaryheads.com/PDF/2nd_g...ng_diagram.pdf

Go buy one for a few bucks at an auto parts store. It is supposed to be 60A.

The speedometer is operated by a cable, which connects to the transmission.

Simple diagnostic procedure in your case would be to check and replace every bad/missing fuse. Let us know how it goes.

Like I said, the BTN fuse feeds 6 different interior fuses. If it's missing, every single thing those fuses normally power will stop working. In this case, it includes the horn, brake lights, flashers, interior lights, warning buzzer, key light & audio system. Just replace the missing 60A fuse.
