Unhappy (Electrical) '79 GS Headlight Problem HELP HELP HELP

Hey guys,

I tried to do the contact cleaner delio on the combo switch from the posts but i just got the same results. I took it all apart and gave it a good cleaning but still no luck. I will be getting another one just in case. But do you guys have any other ideas as to what i could do? I saw some relay looking things on the drivers side firewall and around the drivers side headlight motor. Are these relays that i could just replace with new ones or is there more of them? Part #'s? I saw that there was a turn signal flasher on the hanes manual but i have not had the time to look at it. Maybe there is something else around there?

Thanks for your help.

well u mentioned the one thing u did to fix a problem but u didn't mention what that problem was. cleaning the switch usually fixes a problem with the lights not coming on, altho they will still go up and down. if they're not going up and down, u need to check the fuseable links. it's the brown block looking thing by the coils and headlight motor, there's 3 wires in it covered with a cloth looking stuff. that haynes manual should have these fuseable links listed in it. when cleaning the switch, did u use something to scrap the crud buildup off the contacts?

WA Up/Down Issue

If one HL is going up and down and the other is sticking...is this a motor issue on that side? Or is it still the fuse you were talking about?

Thanks,
