Wondering if anyone can assist...

93 FD had Eibach springs the car is too low for my liking... trying to figure out how much of a drop the car has from stock.

The part # listed on the front springs is 5525.001 and the rear is 5525.002. I've attempted to contact Eibach directly and still awaiting a reply.

Any ideas?

 

Those are Eibach Pro-Kit springs. They drop about an inch lower than stock and they are a truly excellent upgrade for handling.

It's next to impossible to accurately predict ride comfort when you are changing the ride height. You are probably just going to have to try them and see.

Eibach Pro's are linear. I measured mine on a spring tester prior to installation. "

If you choose to change them out, there aren't many options other than stock or fully adjustable coilovers.

Another thing to consider is if your tires are the correct diameter and your spring perches are not sagging.

 

Also, it would help if you parked the car on a very level patch of pavement and measured the height from the ground to the bottom edge of the fender, right above the wheel.

With those springs, proper tires and good suspension parts, it should be about 25"

 

So my problems are:

Left front tire is eating my wiring harness.
Have alot of pull (left/right in the steering) at low speeds.
Car scraps front clip at the slightest incline (Cwest)
Is it normal to have a spacer (seen in the second photo below)

Here is my current setup:

1993 FD

Tires: Kumho Ecsta RSX

Front: 235 45 R17
Rear: 275 40 R17

Shocks: KYB GR-2 (newer)

Springs: Eibach

Front: 5525.001 40/98
Rear: 5525.002 17/98

 

I see a lot of chewed up rubber in that front shock assembly.

Yes, the spacer is normal.

Not good to see the front harness so chewed up. Definitely want to repair that or replace it. While the wheel sizes are appropriate, I wonder if the offset is causing you the rubbing problems.

Sounds like the car also needs an alignment.

Don't have anything useful to say about the front bumper, except that maybe it's a cheap replica or it's not fitted well?

 

My cousin has a problem like that where his car makes loud noises over bumps, and scraps a LOT. My brother installed 4 NEW KYB shocks on his car (in an attempt to solve this problem) and the scraping and bottoming out got WORSE.

In my opinion KYB's are cheap for a reason, id upgrade your shocks to either Tokico Illuminas' or Koni's
