EGI COMP fuse (yet another post)

So, I have read and read and read and read... and searched... and looked through the semi-useless hanes manual... My issue is this:

Driving normally yesterday, heard a "pop" (as in electrical pop), my tach died then the car died... After some help pushing it to the side of the road, I popped the hood and looked at the fuse block - seemed like a logical place to begin - the EGI INJ and EGI COMP fuses had blown. I thought maybe they were just old, so I got a ride to the store, replaced them, turned the key and the EGI COMP fuse blew again - the rest are fine.

Long story short, got the car to my house via tow truck, decided to throw a part at it - replaced the fuse block with one I had in my garage from a previous 7. Fuse still blew...

Only things I have done recently are; dismantle and clean all my intercooler piping and UIM/Throttle Body and run a new wire from the alternator to the battery (per advice from one of the techs at my friend's shop to solve a low voltage issue at night - lights on and such)... Soooo, I replaced the stock alternator wire... I've been reading and reading since yesterday...

What I understand is that the EGI COMP fuse feeds the solenoids on the left side of engine bay (left meaning drivers side?) and each of the solenoids has a b/w (black with white stripe?)... It also feeds the ECU...

Here's the big question for me - where are the solenoids? What do they look like? Pictures? I know this seems very simple, but I can't for the life of me find the b/w wires...

Car is a 88 GTU with a turbo swap (done by KP racing and Mazdas and More in Washington) - mods that may apply to the issue are; FMIC; aftermarket gauges - boost, water temp and tach; powersteering and a/c removed entirely; everything that can be blocked off or removed has been - egr, etc; bosch alternator and optima red top... I think those are the only applicable things...

Hailers, if you're out there, your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading!
