I have sent message to purchase the posted box. Now, all I need is a set of plugs. I figure that's the pricey part. A patch plug set might work here.

Plugs out

New ECU
Ive got got the truncated harness thats still attached to the engine. So, it's a matter of linking pins to the correct wires. Lots of continuity testing, for sure. the docs help that. I've got the original coils and they have truncated plugs for easy attachment. The two stage fuel pump will take another set of threads to solve. But, that seems an issue regardless of the installation.

Bikes
I've been riding Japanese bikes for twenty five years. I still ride them to pick up parts for the car. Because of good choices, luck, and maintenance, each of them showed exemplary reliability, just like good cars. Harley's are not motorcycles, they are chrome display units and excluded from a all discussions of reliability.

More HP
The NA engine should be plenty of power. Already, folks are warning of wheelies with its 160 HP. 300 would be like hunting butterflies with a sledgehammer. Bit of overkill, right? The current transaxle is rated for about 100hp. So, it will probably blow out soon after I get the engine sorted out.

Update:
Purchased suggested ECU through forum. The ad described an n351 ECU. The unit arrived with no factory labeling. The only detail is hand painted describing a 1991 Mazda. Therefore, not a n351.

Purchased plugs set for ecu truncated from a supposedly 1990 rx7. However, none of the wire colors match to that year. The plugs wires don't match the truncated wires from my engine's harness.

So, in conclusion.
I have two ecu's of questionable origin
I have a 13b that may be a 1990 or 1989. Seller also sold spurious AT controller
I have an ECU plug set that matches only one of the ECU's

The local rotary guru has stopped showing up at his garage and responding to calls.

Solution,
1. Trace all wires in engine harness to create new diagram
2. Use diagram to determine actual engine year.
3. Find another #3 ECU that matches the engine.
4. Re-pin all necessary plugs to match new ECU.
5. Sort out the eventual 2stage fuel pump problem that even stock owners have. I'm sure my aftermarket version will be quite simple to sort out.

Nope, I'm a designer. Not a mechanic. Replace the entire nightmare with VW engine that can be repaired with underwear elastic and hand tools. Then, enjoy summer driving instead of hunting for parts that aren't made anymore.

Stay tuned to the classifeid section of this forum for all listed parts.
