You know what. Actually the best way is to just remove the cover and reseal it. Check for uneven wear and metal shavings. That way you won't have to take the exhaust off. My bad about the first post. I replced my diff because it was bad. Yours look repairable so taking off the exhaust is unnecessary

My FC was a quart and a half or so.

I'm having trouble finding replacement gaskets online and one of the youtube videos I watched featured the use of a tube of silicone gasket maker (I think). Is that what you all would use or am I just not looking in the right place for a conventional gasket?

I use "the Right Stuff" by Permatex for alot of my gaskets.
You can always make a gasket KNIQ and then skim the part and gasket with Right Stuff and then put it together.

Also, how do you get the cover off this thing? I think all of the pictures I've seen of diffs had the bolts on the rear side. I can feel some on the forward-facing side of the housing... but I'll have to redo my lift situation to be able to see them.

Hmmm.
That is an FB rear..Not familiar with it..but that looks solid where the "leaking" was wiped off...lol..with your madd Mechanical skills!
I'd investigate further Kniq and see exactly where it is pee'ing out.
Diabolical1 may be able to jump in on this.
