differential difference

Just wondering about the differences between an 87 gxl diff and my 88 10th anni diff. They both lsd, yes? Can the gxl diff handle a turbo setup?
(I'm sure i could have found the answer on the forums or interweb but I need more posts to do stuff)

Yes, both are a clutch type LSD. However, the transmission, driveshaft, differential and half-shafts have different dimensions between the turbo and normally aspirated versions. With turbo components being stronger. You cannot mix stock components so it's somewhat of an all-or-nothing swap.

Depends on how you drive it. Some people have broken NA differentials with NA engines (<200whp) and some people are fine with decent turbo builds. Depends how much power you want to make and how you will use it.

If you do swap the na diff mazdatrix makes a custom driveshaft then you will need na axles. I used a na diff in my t2 swap and was fine but i never launched it so not sure how well it would hold up

sounds a little confusing..so here, think of it this way.
N/A Diff and axles,as a Set.
TII diff and axles as a set.
You can use a N.A Diff to a TII trans if you use a converted driveshaft.
You can use a TII Driveshaft with all the other Parts being TII.
You can hook a TII Trans to an N/A engine as long everything from the engine back is TII.(that means flywheel, counterweight, clutch, pressure plate, starter, clutch slave, transmission)

Sweat not included.
Beer not included...but necessary.

All i ment was is if you swap the full na rear end with a mazdatrix driveshaft it will work.

And on my personal car it held up fine to abuse but i never launched the car and he might run in to issues if he does take it to the drag strip and gets a hard and hooking launch it might not hold
