MO Degreasing an Engine

my '94 needs the engine bay cleaned up and I'm looking for suggestions on what to use and a safe way to do it without killing anything electrical. Are the foams really safe? I have heard they can cause electrical problems and I don't want to take chances. Anyone have suggestions on what to use?

Typically I use Castrol Super Clean. Spray it on, let it sit a few minutes, then rinse off from the top using low pressure water from a hose, avoiding the alternator. It may take several applications and some brush work if the engine has not been cleaned. Also, avoid spraying it at any bearings (ie. idler pulley) as it will strip lubricants from the bearing.
