Dash lights not working

So when I bought the car they seemed to work just fine. Low coolant light/sound, doors open ect. However now they don't seem to work, randomly out of the blue.

I have checked all fuses and have not changed or messed with any wiring.

Something weird I noticed was if I didn't drive the car for a few days, the clock would work and be bright, but slowly start to fade.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Just to be clear, Iit's not the dash lights (speedo/rpm ect). Its the "dummy lights" in the middle of the dashboard.

Could be just a loose connection (that item you speak of is prone to cold solder joints and act like it has a mind of its own).

check fuses, usually the dash lights are linked with another series of lights aswell
