Damn fuel pump....

Is it bad to just wire the pump to give it a constant ~12 volts? I have a walboro and something is fucked up with the wiring and if I can just keep it constantly on that would make things easier. I do have a fuel pressure regulator if that matters. I know something aint right cuz on the PFC on sensor check it says 4.98v and is highlighted. Thanks for the help

the +12v source needs to be switched, meaning powered when the ignition switch is in the on position. otherwise it will run all the time.

agreed. if you dont have a switch on it then you will burn your pump out or keep draining your battery. So what i recommend here ( if you dont want to trace the existing wiring) is to simply go to Kragen or whatever parts store you have local and buy a switch with a built in fuse. Just like a little toggle switch of some sort will work. Then you can wire your fuel pump directly to that. All you have to do is turn the pump on and off manually.

It will also make for a nifty little security system so that people dont go driving off with your ride.
