Cranks But Won’t Start
Hey folks,
I have a 1989 Turbo II which has been in storage for quite some time. It cranks over but won’t start. I have a sneaky suspicion that it may be the aftermarket alarm but not 100% sure. Any thoughts on trouble shooting?

welcome to the board.
how long is "quite some time"? if we're talking years, then i'd be inclined to suspect a few other things (mainly fuel system-related) before the security system.
that said, it's anyone's guess. you can start by eliminating the doubt in the aftermarket security system. trace the wires and find where it ties into car and disconnect it.

Alarm systems will generally disable the starter trigger. We can rule out the starter being the issue. Next comes the standard things required to make any engine run (fuel, spark, air). See if you have spark at the plugs. If that is ruled out, try spraying some starting fluid into the carb and see if it tries to start. These are all basic things to follow when starting an unknown engine.
