search you regional forum for threads related to your area.

you will have to look up what your state laws say about engine modification but there is really no way for them to tell the engine is port without cracking it open

a well done port job shouldn't hurt anything, though I wouldn't recommend a bridgeport

Nor a j-port or a p-port, or any of that. Stick to a streetport and you should be fine. If emissions are something to worry about then don't go to big.

from what i've seen/read bridgeports are easy to screw up
they are overkill for anything you're going to drive on the street
and you'll definitely want a standalone ECU with it

I would go turbo it, run 11-12 psi, do a mild streetport, LARGE injectors (650-750cc), FMIC, 2.5" turbo back/ straight pipe exhaust, a nice standalone ECU (or a PFC if your poor) and an aliminum radiator and call it good.

You dont need a whole ton of HP to drift.

There is Atkins rotary in Puyallup. That is one of the biggest rotary shops in the world.

Most of the vendors sell porting templates. They are the place to start if this is your first port job.

A street port is so named because it is the most streetable of all ports. It provides the best balance between power increase and torque loss vs. idle quality and fuel mileage.

I've seen pics of people just polishing their ports. Does this really achieve anything? Is it something you would only do if you had to take the engine apart anyway?

Polishing ports is almost pointless. Only worth doing if the engine is already apart for porting.

sorry havnt been on in a couple days
one question when you say best balance between torque and power so the bigger the port the less torque but more top end am i right ??
also can you break it down more i dont know what im doing when it comes to turbos, ecu's, sensorse
im into 4x4/small blocks raw horspower
so all this street stuff is cunfusing
