Couple Fc problems

I have a couple problems with my car since previous owner neglected it. First, the car won't start. It hadn't started before and got it fixed, drove it home, cruised a bit. Then when I tried turning it back on later, nothing. I think it may be the battery but not too sure. Any ideas? Next problem, my headlight won't come up, no noise of motor working or anything, one works just fine. Think it may be the motor? Any ideas? Also, brake lights don't come on, I'm pretty clueless. Please help it will be greatly appreciated!

For starters, year of the car?

When you tried to start the car did the starter at least turn over or did you get absolutely nothing but silence?

W/respect to the brakes did you check to see if the Stop fuse was good or not? If the fuse was good then the switch on the brake pedal, which has two wires, the Green/White wire would have constant voltage.

It's a 1990. The starter did not turn over, I can hear a little noise but it does not turn over. I'll check the fuse tomorrow and keep you updated.

Also, my brother tried to start the car and it did turn over. I tried again a couple hours later and no noise, I kept trying and it turned over. I tried again and no noise and it hasn't made any noise since.

Obviously you should check the battery to begin with. There also is a switch at the very top of the clutch which requires the clutch to be depressed to start the car. If the switch is faulty it could cause the car to start/turn over intermittently. There is a relay next to the Main Relay which has but one plug to this relay. W/key to start and clutch depressed the Black/Blue wire at this relay should have at least 8 to 10 volts. Does it? If it does then the thicker of the two Black/Green wires should also have this voltage. Does it? If the Black/Blue wire checks out but the Black/Green wire does not then either the relay or factory alarm is at fault. To bypass the alarm you would jumper the thin Black/Green wire in the relay to the Light Green/Yellow wire.
