Coolant boils on my 88' Turbo II but temp shows normal
i noticed my coolant is boiling sometimes when i get done driving my 1988 turbo II rx7 and my temperature guage shows a normal temperature, pretty sure its the coolant, i can just hear a liquid bubbling , what could be wrong with my car, i just got the car alittle under 2 weeks ago and it has 69000 miles on the car. i dont know much about the problems of a rotary engine so i would appreciate any help

how high does the stock gauge register when this is happening? also, i'm assuming the engine is off when you're hearing it. is that correct?
if your basis is only that you "hear liquid bubbling", then i would advise getting actual data. measure how hot the car is running, especially since the stock gauge isn't showing signs of overheating.
you could just burp the system and see what happens or you could flush the system and refill with a new mixture and see if anything changes.

I would check your coolant level when the engine is cold. If it is low, you might hear that bubbling cause there might be little to no coolant in your overflow bottle to pull back into the system as the system begins to cool. Kindof like sucking on a straw when your drink is near empty.
Next thing to do would be make sure your coolant overflow bottle is at the low mark when cold.
