Recently bought an 89 vert. The parking brake holds and doesn't need adjusting. but for some reason the top will not open or close because of a safety feature that prevent the use of the top unless the parking brake is engaged. Is there a sensor somewhere that I can check?

 

From my understanding it should open provided the latches are unlocked and the brake light indicating that the e brake is armed is lot on the dash.

 

yea pretty much but if youre not getting luck, check the switch and ebrake wires and work from there, fuses and the motors
