ON Compatability??

If i found a 1986 RX7 worth restoring, and had a 1985 for parts...... what kind of issues would i run into? i believe, there is a body style change as well as an engine difference????? What about interior and things like that?
thanks

Well, an '85 is a 1st gen car, while an '86 is 2nd gen. They're two completely different cars, so very little would be adaptable. The most similar thing would be the engines if the '85 is a GSL-SE (13b). The 13b in an '86 would be close, but still different.

If the 85' happens to be a second gen. made at the end of 85' like mine then they would be very well adaptable. If it is a first gen. which it most likely is then like rotaryrocket88 said very little can be changed from the first gen. to the second gen. If it is not a GSL-SE then it has a 12A engine thats is carbed while the second gen. has a 13b engine that is fuel injected even though you can make a 13b carbed.

Just get a picture.

Seriously. If they look the same, they are the same generation.

They switched over before the end of 1985 because my FC was made 12/85 and it came out as a 1986 model.
