Question Companion flange?

Swapping a JDM S5 Turbo II into a 87 GXL and having multiple issues (mostly electrical). But this is mechanical. I have the Turbo II driveshaft to put in but the companion flange holes do not line up (different hole pattern). I assumed that the GXL had the Turbo rear end....Can a Turbo Companion Flange be mounted onto a N/A rear diff?

The turbo diff is specific to the turbo model only; no NA car will have it. And you can't use a TII driveshaft with an NA rear end, so you will either need a custom driveshaft made, or buy a TII to NA shaft from Mazdatrix.

For the custom shaft, you would need a TII yoke & an NA flange. Another option is to get an automatic driveshaft and have it extended ~2" in length.

Also, someone may suggest expanding the holes on your TII flange, but that is just a bad idea. Doing so could make the driveshaft off-balance.

I have both the N/a and Turbo driveshalfts. So your saying to put the N.A. end flange onto the Turbo end yoke?

I'll have a Custom driveshaft Coming up For sale, that allows you to Run a TII engine/Trans with an N/A rear differential.if interested let me know.Pm me.
An N/A driveshaft will not fit IN a TII trans..I know..I lost 2 quarts of synthetic on that Fiasco!(had the wrong driveshaft when converting..)
