WA clutch woes

I have a 93 FD stock power level.

Replaced the engine along with the clutch 27k miles ago with Exedy Clutch kit. (Stage 1 IIRC).

This morning at a stop light, I stepped on the clutch pedal and felt a slight pop. I thought my shoe slipped and the corner of the pedal went into the groove of my shoe.

As I take off from 1st gear, barely releasing the pedal, the transmission would engage and feels like I am starting from second gear.

I could shift normally but the tranny would engage with barely releasing the pedal.

I got home, put the car on a ramp, (had to rev up the engine so it would not stall) inspected the clutch through the maintenance hole and I don't see any fluid leaking.

Did a search on "clutch problem" on 3rd gen got 250 results but didn't find a clear answer from my symptom.

Any idea what could be my problem?

Went under the car again today with more light.
Found the culprit, the clutch fork is broken.

Thanks! Already ordered the part, should arrive here on Wednesday.

I don't have the tools needed to take the tranny down so I asked around here today.

1 shop quoted me 4.4hrs labor $85/hr but I'll ask around again Monday see if I might get a better quote.

Yeah that sucks but you're on the right track. The replacement forks are reputed to be stronger.
