FL Clutch Master and Slave

So my clutch pedal stuck to the floor a couple days ago and searching through the forum I learned that it may be either the master or slave cylinders for the clutch. I purchased both (got the master, slave will be in tomorrow), and I am wondering if once installed does it have to be bled or do they prime themselves.

Reason for the question is that this 7 is my first vehicle that doesn't have a cable driven clutch.

Thanks

What year?

You should be replacing the flexible line between the master and slave at the same time. Yes, you have to bleed from the slave after install.

It is a 1990 vert, and thanks, that's what I thought but wanted to make sure. I'll be picking up a flex hose as well

you may also want to bleed the system before installing the new parts. unless you have a specific reason to think that the master or slave is busted.

my reason for replacing the master and slave is that if I have the clutch petal pushed down for more than a couple sec I can feel the pressure release and the pedal will stick to the floor. I keep having to use the toe of my shoe to pull the pedal back up and let it regain pressure before I can shift again. One day it was fine, the next morning went to go to work and it gave me problems. Since the person I bought the car from didn't keep record of work done to the vehicle I don't know if either was ever replaced. So I am just replacing both to be safe.

I just replaced all my clutch components and hydraulics because my pedal was sticking to the floor as well. But my clutch has also been slipping when trying to apply any level of power over 2000 RPM from a stand-still.

Anyway after replacing the hydraulics, they seem to be fine I think, so I think my problem was caused by the pressure plate. The spring pressure on the fingers was very weak. So if the new hydraulics don't help you... it is probably your pressure plate.

Thanks, installed everything Friday night and it seems happy now, but I'll keep an eye on it.
