Ive got an 88 turbo 2 and im having trouble figuring out whats wrong with the clutch. First i rebuilt the motor, got the car running, and drove it down the street. all of a sudden i couldn't get the transmission into gear. Pushed the car home and noticed the clutch fork wasn't seated properly, took the transmission down and found that the pivot ball and clip were broken. replaced them as well as the pilot bearing. the clutch and pressure plate looked good so I left them alone put the the car back together, clutch is still not disengaging. Replaced the slave cylinder even though it was working just to see if it wasn't pushing the fork far enough, still no Luck. I adjusted the pedal and nothings working any ideas? my next step is just replace the clutch.

are you sure you got the correct slave cylinder? the ones for the T2 and N/A are physically different parts even though they bolt up to the tranny fine. when i did the clutch hydraulics on my FC, it took me a while to realize that i had bought the T2 slave instead of the N/A unit.

 

Yeah I checked to make sure it was a turbo 2 slave I was hoping it was the wrong part and it would be an easy fix, but it wasn't.

 

So I think I figured it out! I pulled the trans out and it appears the new pilot bearing somehow got smashed. I hope that's it.
