Changing fuel pump on stock 89 S5 TII
Changing fuel pump on stock 89 S5 TII
Allright, so my fuel pump is dead. So I'm looking into a cheap way out, since I want to see if it will start.
I've thought about the Walbro 255 LPH pump since I can get it cheap.
BUT, I've searched a bit and seen that for a completely stock TII it will get too high pressure for the stock FPR to handle + it will press more fuel in than I need increasing carbon buildup.
(I'm keeping the car bone stock untill I get it started and see if the engine is good)
Is this true? or will I be able to use the Walbro pump when the car is stock?
Need some input, fast!
Regards.

If you just stick the Walbro on, it will raise fuel pressure and make the car run richer.
You would need to go to an aftermarket FPR.
Or, use a stock replacement pump from the parts store if you aren't modding.
